Neil Sivertson – Managing Director

Neil Sivertson is a Managing Director with Peakstone where he is responsible for deal origination and execution.  Neil possesses extensive financial markets experience throughout the capital structure and also has strong operational experience in manufacturing and agriculture.

Neil manages the assets of a family office which includes Coventina, a grower of numerous row crops including wheat, canola, peas and lentils. Additionally, Neil also led the sale of CalCo Controls, the family’s manufacturing company. For over 60 years, CalCo has been the leading interactive training and technical display company for global durable goods manufacturers, having close to 1/3 of the fortune 500 manufacturing base as its past customers.

Neil has over 20 years of Capital markets experience in sales and trading as well as private equity, both on the buy and sell side. Within that 20 years, Neil spent close to 7 years responsible for US sales and trading at Canaccord, increasing the US group’s revenue base by over 500%, and was one of the 35 people on the global capital markets team that successfully took the firm public through its IPO. During those 20 years, Neil initiated US based operations for two private Canadian investment banks, and also worked in the distressed equity area.  Additionally Neil was the head of international trading at one of Chicago’s top money managers early in his career. Neil began his career at BMO in the treasury development program, rotating through various risk management, foreign exchange and fixed income positions.

Neil completed his H.B.A. and M.B.A at the Ivey School of Business at Western University in Canada. Neil is married with two boys and is active in community based activities. Currently a board member at the New Trier Hockey Club, Neil’s past positions include the Winnetka Hockey Club and Spina Bifida groups of Ontario and Illinois.
