Mark is a senior advisor at Peakstone. Mark is the Chairman of Hamilton Group Funding, a residential mortgage banking firm, generating close to $1 billion is originations annually. He was previously active in growing the business organically and via acquisition as its President and CEO.
At JPMorgan Chase, Mark was SVP of Strategic Partnerships in the Mortgage Banking group where he focused on affinity-related retail and call center production growing that business to $11B in originations.With Guaranty Bank and Trust in Denver, he created a de novo mortgage-banking group, and through two acquisitions built a profitable retail residential and commercial lending business integrated with the bank’s branches and client base.
Mark served as CEO of GMAC Mortgage Group, a leading nationwide retail residential and multi-family lending and servicing firm with over 3,500 employees and annual volume exceeding $10B.
Mark was CEO of Residential Funding Corporation (RFC), a subsidiary of Solomon Brothers where he build the company to the nation’s largest private issuer and master servicer of mortgage-backed securities, until it was ultimately acquired by GMAC Mortgage.
Mr. Korell earned a B.S. degree with High Honors from the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering and a M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
