Robert Peterson – Managing Director
Rob Peterson is a Managing Director at the Peakstone Group, where he is responsible for transaction origination and execution. With nearly 25 years of investment banking and strategic advisory experience, Rob has worked as a trusted advisor with his clients in closing transactions including merger, acquisition, divestiture, equity and debt capital formation, public offering, recapitalization, international/cross-border and strategic advisory assignments. He has worked with clients ranging from small, founder/family-owned companies to multi-national industry leaders. His clients tend to be involved with advanced materials and advanced manufacturing techniques with a high degree of IP and related services. Oftentimes these clients serve harsh environment industries which demand precision manufacturing tolerances, high reliability, and frequently must adhere to regulatory oversight.
During his career, Rob has been a senior investment banker in the Industrial Groups at Lehman Brothers, Barclays, KeyBanc Capital Markets and KPMG where he was responsible for leading their respective A&D sector practices as well as special situation transactions within the industrial sector. Rob has also been heavily involved in his family’s transportation-related businesses and brings that unique perspective to his client assignments.
Prior to his investment banking career, Rob was employed professionally as an officer on merchant ships with his career culminating in earning his U.S. Coast Guard Master Mariner License. Rob also served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Rob earned a MBA from from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
