Terri Smalinsky is a Managing Director at The Peakstone Group with over 30 years of investment banking experience. Terri specializes in infrastructure and project finance, advising in the placement of debt and equity for projects in the energy, transportation and manufacturing sectors. Her prior experience includes structuring transactions in both the taxable and tax-exempt debt marketplaces, including advising clients on alternative solutions for attracting debt and equity for private public partnerships.

In her career, Terri has advised on and/or placed financing for over $6 billion in infrastructure projects, both domestically and internationally. Her engagements included advising clients on airport privatizations in New York, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Costa Rica, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Russia and Turkey as well as advising Chicago-O’Hare International Airport during its first major multi-billion dollar expansion program. Her clients have included Bechtel, Siemens, Westinghouse, Vancouver Airport, Frankfurt Airport, the U.S. Trade and Development Bank and the African Development Bank, as well as a variety of other cities and companies participating in the privatization of infrastructure worldwide. She led the first 144A private placement project debt financing for a non-U.S. airport in the U.S. capital markets for the team that won the concession for the airport in Santiago, Chile. Terri has spoken at conferences on project and infrastructure finance in the U.S., Costa Rica, Switzerland, Turkey, Indonesia, and the Ivory Coast.

Terri’s career at First Chicago Capital Markets, ABN AMRO, Stern Brothers and B.C. Ziegler and Company also included clients in other project finance sectors, including renewable energy, water and sewer infrastructure, affordable housing, and industrial and economic development. She was also involved in trading and investing a $1 billion bank infrastructure debt portfolio earlier in her career.

Terri has a Master of Management degree with majors in accounting, finance and public management from Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and a B.A. in political science and economics from the University of Michigan. She also received a Master of Environmental Law and Policy degree from the Vermont Law School. Terri has passed the Series 7, 53 and 63 securities exams, as well as the CPA exam.
